Music, the sound of the spheres, begins in the womb!

Why is it necessary to have a site dedicated to women who make music?

I would like to hear your responses to this question and suggestions as how we can make this site special.

This is a great Idea because we have to support each other and help each other and not buy into this competitiveness that the business tries to perpetuate. It's not true that one artist is better than another if we are all true to our individual inner voices. We are not kareoke entertainers, not copying each other. We can't be undercutting our performance fees because there are too few places to work. Let's be creative and invent some new ways to create new venues and ways that we can all get our work out there. We all have our stories ,each one important and so helpful to the listening world. We are healers. We write and sing stories to help people get through some of the deepest sorrows and the most joyous times of their lives.
Let us celebrate that, and each others growth and contrabutions. Yeah! We are awesome.
Thank you and if I said something hurtful or wrong please correct me.

Joani,

You hit the nail on the head. We are each pieces of the Universal puzzle. Each of us has a gift and a purpose and not one of us is more important than the other.

I believe that history has shown that women's words, music, art and literature has been muffled by men who fear being overcast. When all of us realize the need for each of us to express ourselves by any means necessary, through art, literature, architecture, politics, spirituality, etc. and we recognize and acknowledge each others contributions, then there will be peace on Earth.

Commercialism and capitalism pit people against each other, however, women like Susan Boyle on the idol show with Simon show the world that ALL of us have a talent and a gift to share with the world.

Thanks for responding!

HI Joan & Joani

This is a lovely article and I am in agreement with both of you. Women are the creative force, we are the carriers and nurturers of the soul. The ones given the strength to bear the pain of creation in birth, and the strength to cry and the strength to have joy in our tears! We are the ones that create community and hold it together. However men have their place too and it is centuries of misunderstanding that has brought us all here to these realisations. Women hold the depth of love and light within them that men are both attracted too and fearful of. Our songs help us express our inner soul for the benefit of all. We ALL have a divine spark that when joined together creates a brilliant sun to light the world.
The commercial music world is only that.....a commercial part of a bigger picture. Our music, our songs, our voices are one in harmony when we trust each other and support each other and realise that each voice is unique and here as part of the whole to mirror or share another aspect of the divine within us all. love & blessings Hilary
